Arriving in Barcelona

A view of "our street"-Escudellers

On Thursday, April 2, Brent, Devin and I along with Brett, Amy and the kids went to Barcelona for a few days. After traveling by train, metro, airplane, bus, and then walking with our suitcases-at least 5 or 6 blocks to our apartments (Gothic Green and Gothic Blue) we were ready to take on the city of Barcelona. By the time we got there, it was after 8 pm and though it had been raining, we only ran into a few sprinkles. Things were just starting to come to life in the city. It was spring break for many and the streets were crowded. We all wondered what kind of accommodations we had booked as we met the rental person at the door of a very old building and hauled our luggage up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. What an adventure! Our location was on a street (alley) just off the famous LA RAMBLA. Many shops, restaurants and bars lined our street along with apartments above the businesses. We felt somewhat safe as our apartments each had massive deadbolts that required 2 keys along with a key to the lower door to the street! It wasn't hard to scout out the familiar-McDonald's! By 9 pm we were so hungry and their menu had some great items (even better than the States). After that, we stopped at the corner Mercado for some milk and cereal and we were ready for the next day...

What?! No KFC? I guess McD's will have to do... Sounds like an adventure and you just left us hanging. Please continue with the story.

OH I do love the color of that ceiling. Probably very soothing to fall asleep to. I want to hear more about the mouse on the stairs!!! I bet it was so much fun. I'm with Tanya, tell us more!
