What a Trip!

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Paris with Danielle. She had been in southern France for a few weeks and invited me to stay with her in Paris for the last week of her trip. We stayed in a little flat, a little off the beaten path but still in the city. It was near a Metro stop and was on a quiet street. We were four flights up and we hiked those stairs every day!
I think we saw just about as much as you can see in a week in Paris! Our feet and legs were tired at the end of each day but we covered a lot of ground. The weather during the day was cool and blustery but the evenings were calm and warm. We had a goal to eat a "crepe a day." One day we missed our crepe but we made up for it the next day by eating two!
My two favorite things we did were-going to the Eiffel Tower (twice) and attending church in the Paris ward. I loved going to church-the minute I walked in, I felt the Spirit. They may have been speaking in French but I knew they were teaching and speaking about the same things we teach and speak about in our ward. We are all bound together by one common denominator-the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Danielle was the perfect guide. She knew how to get around and she can speak French-what a blessing for me! Thanks for inviting me, Danielle and thanks Brent, for letting me go to Paris!

Giant Cupcake

Caitlin and I worked all day Saturday on this giant cupcake for her friend's birthday. It wouldn't have been so hard and taken so long except that the day was hot and the frosting kept melting and so we had to keep putting it in the refrigerator to harden up the icing in between coats! We did make a lemon curd for the layer between the top and the bottom. That lemon curd along with cream cheese frosting was a yummy combination!

Do You Love Jane Austen?

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Caitlin and I watched the movie "The Jane Austen Book Club" the other day. The movie was ok but it sparked a revival of our love for Jane Austen's works. The way she writes is so witty and unique. If you like her stories, take this quiz to find out which leading lady you are most like. Caitlin and I ended up resembling the same leading lady, Elinor Dashwood, when we took the quiz. Who do you resemble?

This may look like an ordinary bundt cake...

One of my favorite blogs is Light Refreshments Served. The other night I was checking it out and found this recipe for Lime Pound Cake with Raspberry Sauce. Well, I had a bunch of limes in the refrigerator and thought I'd give this recipe a try. All I can say is "WOW". We all loved it. It is so rich and the flavor is outstanding. Treat yourself and try it out on your family. I will make this again, soon!

P.S. If you think all I do is cook, it's not true! I do like to share good food ideas when I find a recipe that is outstanding.
