A Taste of the Seasons

This week, I am staying with Brett and Amy's kids while they are in Madrid, Spain searching for a home to rent. I have been here since Friday and will be flying home this Saturday. We have been having a great time, although I know why you have young children while you are younger! We drove down to Traci's on Saturday and stayed with the Underwood's overnight. The kids had such a great time with their cousins.
I always forget how beautiful the changing leaves are, since we don't really have our seasons defined in California. I think we have summer, fire season and spring! It has been pretty warm here which is unseasonable but it is so great for the kids to be able to go outside and play. It is also great to be in "McCain Palin" country. (So I guess you know who I am voting for!) It is just another sign of "election" season. Oh, and by the way-we filled up our car yesterday for $2.73 a gallon. Can you beat that?

A Few Weeks Ago...

Zelia turned 5 on September 2nd. Kory and Erika had a birthday party for her on Sept. 13th at their apartment in Long Beach. She celebrated with lots of relatives and we enjoyed being with her and Kory and Erika. Erika had decorated the apartment fantastically with "under the sea" creatures, balloons, and blue plastic half way up the walls to make us feel like we were in the water! She is so creative and her family really helped out with delicious food. Thanks for inviting us!
