Toledo

On Saturday we went to Toledo about 1 hour+ south of Madrid. Our sightseeing took us to the Toledo Cathedral. The style was Gothic and work began on it in 1226 and was completed in 1493. There were so many carvings, so much gold, and plenty of art to fill several museums. The art collection included paintings by the famous El Greco. It was so interesting-the choir room alone was very ornate with different carvings on each seat, above and below. The artisans of the time really had talent. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside so if you want to see some of the sights we saw, check it out here.
Like Segovia, the buildings and streets were narrow and interesting. Someone had a decorative collection of old pots hanging outside their window. We wandered around the city before we went in the cathedral and when we came out, it was raining. Gavin had watched the news and predicted it would rain-he was right.

It's nice to have a weather forecaster in the family. Oh, the many talents of the Ross family!
