This Mother's Day..

This Mother's Day I would like to pay tribute to my Mom. Although she has been gone for almost 32 years, I am the person I am because of her. She was the best mother ever. She taught me-she corrected when necessary and encouraged me in every way.
My mom was fun and positive and loved to sing. Sometimes it was a little embarrassing but now I would give anything to hear her beautiful soprano voice. She was clever. She was a great cook. She made the best bread. She wrote roadshows with Aunt Louise. She had faith and she taught us about the Savior by the way she lived. She served others and cared for her parents in their old age. She encouraged me to be a good mother and she loved her grandchildren. Everyone loved to be around my mom-our home was the place where all the relatives came on Sunday evenings for food and to watch home movies.
Every Mother's Day, it's wonderful to be honored by my children but I am so grateful to have had the privilege of having Carolynn Buchanan as my mom.

I wish I could have known her. What a great tribute. She sounds like she was so much fun. Just like you mom!

This is a nice thing to do. I remember the day she died - I think you were one of the first people I ever really knew who lost their mom. She must have instilled her good traits well as you reflect them in your own life, creativity and relationships.
